The switch to the left of the temp controls and setting, the one that controls the settings of the incoming air(off-4) doesn't want to work in 1-2 or 3, does or did anyone have that problem? It works fine when on 4 but thats it.
Is it hard or expensive to fix?:frown:
Im sorry for posting so much as a newbie but im trying to fix up the car.

Position 4 directs battery voltage to the blower motor bypassing the blower motor resistor. Positions 1-2-3 route battery voltage through resistors to reduce voltage and blower motor speed. This is not an unusual problem with Altima's or many other vehicles. You probably need to replace the blower motor resistor that is attached to the air duct under the blower motor and above the A/C evaporator. Look near the rubber 90 degree elbow hose. Resistors cost about $30. Wiggle or unplug and reconnect the wire harness from the resistor. Sometimes the problem is a dirty connection at the plug where it connects to the resistor. Here is a picture of the resistor.

Check rockauto.com or Amazon.com may have free shipping for a Haynes repair manual part #72015. The pictures make any job easier and are worth more than the $14 cost of the book for any individual repair you attemp.

Thanks a lot, I'll check the connections out and PRAY that's its just dirty, if not, hopefully I can buy the resistor at Napa, because its a 1.5 hour drive to the nearest Nissan Dealer
Thanks again
