Is this the quickest sUpRa?

i remember seeing that vid before. im not sure on the fastest supra though.

This was posted before. Nice vid though, and fast car. I think i'm beginning to think that they are overrated though.

No. I've always wanted one, especially before they became an icon. It just seems like there's alot of dudes doing a circle J$%K over the cars in general. There's always an excuse when one loses too, it seems.

I do believe it has some awesome potential. I just think alot of other engines are over looked by it, like the RB26DETT. It seems like it's the most sought after Japanese engine, and that alot of other vehicles engines are not acknowledged as much. Know what I mean?

Trust me I loved the car before I knew what it could really do. I'm a fan of it's styling.

I didn't even watch teh vid, but if this is the one that was posted on 3si, that is now on ebay. No, there are at least 2 faster ones.

I like the Supra's, but personally I remember that when I really didn't know very much about cars (not alot has changed) I would always hype the Supra because it was the one I knew

and I find people who still don't know squat about cars talk about Supras...

Its like people who don't know baseball talk about the Yankees...Everybody knows them, but they aren't the best!

I recall a Supra from the NOPI "Tunervision" last year at Virginia Motorsports Park going like 7.70s over 185. Seems to me, the Supra was the fastest/quickest in NOPI.

Who ever said Supra was an "icon"? It's just another Jap car... But with the proper application of parts and chassis work, that little 6 can MAKE some power! Of course, it must be kept "in perspective". A Camaro, built at the same level (chassis) with the same amount of dollars invested in a 502, would go some LOW 7s... And do it for most or all of a season, rather than about 10 passes.

i was gonna say yeah the titan supra is in the 7s, i also thought another one or two were in the mid 7s but i could be wrong.

but theres no camaro motor that can make a reliable 986 whp on a completely stock bottom end. i believe the supra will hold that record for a while.

Dont forget about displacement. When muscle car guys say they can make the more power than a small jap engine with less money,work,boost, whatever, they fail to remember that there is a huge difference in displacement in the first place. Over 1000hp out of 3.0L is incredible. A 1.6L honda making 400hp is impressive as well.

Saying a 5.0L can make alot more power than a 2.0L with the same money is stupid because you're not even starting on even ground.

Actually Titan isn’t the fastest. The fastest would be MSP with a 7.906 @ 180.77mph.

That car in the video has actually gone .02 seconds faster than the Titan Supra.

wow..that has to suck to lose by 2 hundredths of a second.

Yeah, supras are great, its the people that drive them that suck.

Hows the old joke go, "whats the difference between a 400 hp supra and a 600 hp surpa? .3 seconds in the quarter" or something like that.

Of course same thing could have happened to RX7, 300ZX, 3KGT if it had been highlighted in F&F.

Well today that same Supra in the video ran a 7.88@181mph , in 100 degree heat.
