I started my car after it was garaged for 6 months. It starts fine. I warmed it up a few minumtes while movingit. After washing it, I restarted it and there is a lot of valve chatter. I shut it down immediately. I have heard this sound on other vehicles when they were low on oil. The oil is fresh and it is full. Could the problem be just some residue from sitting? Should I start it and let it run to get some heat in the motor? The car runs great and I have never had a problem with it.

First does the oil pressure guage show any pressure.. if it does then it could be gunge in the valve bucket on gunge in the oilway to the cylinder head. A fix we use for this and it works is to add a pint of automatic transmission fluid to the oil to clear the gunge. Once cleared change oil and filter. If you have no oil pressure indicated then check the oil filter has not unprimed itself (cheap ones do this no nrt fitted). Also check the tention of the crank pully bolt ( very very tight) it drives the pump. Lastly but least likely oil pickup tube dropped off or oil pump worn out or gunged .
