allright just sayin that i have a signature that i like that was created on photoshop...and i want to put it in my signature but i dont want the white background to it how do i take it off...(i've tried to make the new file transparent setting but when i try to save it a a jpeg it adds the white background to it...even when i turn the matte off it still makes it white).....so what should i do????

Okay, all transparent images are .Gif's. They are called "Transparent Gif's" (go figure :rolleyes: ) also known as "Gif 89a" format

Anyhow, all you gotta do is choose "export" then "Gif 89a Export" from the file menu. Then select the setting you want and hit OK. Then give it a name and BAM!

Like Ci5ic says, jpeg doesn't support transparency. The only web-friendly formats that do are gif89a and png.

When u copy and paste into the new transparent file, u need to use magic wand, select the white, and delete it... this will remove the white, and leave the transparency...

In photoshop, u can tell if its going to be transparent if u see gray&white boxes(default setting)..
