Cranks won't turn over has power, guages dead

97' 4x4 4.3l cranks strong, fuel pump doesn't inguage, dash guages dead. is it the alternator? checked fuses and fuel pump only 3 months old.

Probably the ignition switch. Notorious on 97's. Do a search on ignition switch.

Having had this problem with my '97, I Agree.

checked all fuses and all are good.
The purpose of providing the link was to show you the various syptoms and issues associated with a bad ignition switch. Checking the fuses is a good start. But now I think you need to price out a new ignition switch.
'97's, from what I've read, is the worst year for bad Ignition Switches.

The turn signal wires shorted out and blew the ignition switch...thanks for everyone's help...
