View Full Version : Handbrake light on? Handbrake light on? MickeyP 08-11-2006, 11:35 AM This morning, my handbrake light was on although the handbrake was down. Also, It felt ok, it didn't file like the handbrake was on. What do you think the cause is? somick 08-11-2006, 04:16 PM Welcome to the forum! "Brake" warning light tells you about the brake SYSTEM malfunction. Check your brake fluid. I can bet it is low. Make sure you do it right away. It is dangerous to drive like this. Next step your brake system if not replenished will suck in air and you will loose your brakes completely. Sam MickeyP 08-11-2006, 05:38 PM Hey, thanks for the reply. I just checked the break fluid. It's full. Any other suggestions? AudioGuy93DelSol 08-13-2006, 12:38 AM It's probably just your E-brake switch. If there was a brake system problem, the ABS light would be on. The E-brake light it just a simple circuit with a switch located right next to the brake lever. Take out your center consol and you'll see the switch, it's probably just jammed.
