Clutch, Throw out bearing... Help pleaseNJH_Habitatpro 08-09-2006, 10:55 AM Doing some work to my 89 mustang lx. Got the clutch out to change it. Got to the release bearing and noticed the one i took out had cleps on it. (groves) like on the driveshaft where it links into the driveaxel. They dont look like they should be there to much but they are in order so im like 50/50 on if they should be there. All the bearings i get are smooth including the one in my clutch kit. So i ask should my bearing be smooth all the way around? Thank you for any help I may get. NJH_Habitatpro 08-09-2006, 04:07 PM Hey guys think i might have it all figured out. The stock one comes with this plastic thing where the fork hooks onto. So the new ones are just metel so they dont have that plastic thing and the clips. Hoping that is it cause i dont want to rip that tranny back out. NJH_Habitatpro 08-17-2006, 10:20 AM Yeah the non stock bearings have clips to you just have to find a place that has them.
