Is there any reason why I couln't take a steel brush and scrape off the surface rust on my coil towers. 3 of the 6 have some surface rust on them, and it would be easier and cheaper if I could just use a wire brush and get that rust off. I just wanted to make sure before I did it.

As a side question, I was thinking about getting a factory style spoiler for my malibu, does anyone know where I should look to order one. I think I like the custom style better then the standard for the factory ones. I'm not sure If I want to paint it myself or not, but I'm leaning toward getting it pre-painted.

Thanks for your help.

It should probably be ok to just clean the rust off. I would go easy and not take to much material off. I think there is some anti moisture spray you can put on there to prevent this, anyone know what to put the terminals, WD-40 maybe??

If You Clean Them, You Must Replace The Wires Because You Will Never Get The Corrosion Out Of The Plugwire Coil End. And To Stop The Corrosion You Could Use A Liberal Coating Of Dielectric Grease. It Will Promote A Good Connection While Keeping The Moisture Out For Longer Period Of Time.

Good point about the wires, defintely replace them. I wouldn't use the Dielectric grease though, look at the definition of Dielectric.

di·e·lec·tric Audio pronunciation of "dielectric" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (d-lktrk)
n.

A nonconductor of electricity, especially a substance with electrical conductivity of less than a millionth (10-6) of a siemens.

That doesn't look like thats the right stuff to use.
