Steering Wheel Radio Controls

All of a sudden the radio/climate control controls on my 95 Riveria are acting crazy. If I hit volume up, for example, volume doesn't change, but after a few seconds the band changes, then the station changes and the temperature control changes.

It does not matter which of the controls I push. None work. Dashboard controls all operate correctly.

1. Any ideas?
2. Can I replace the steering wheel control module?
3. Anyone know where I can get one and/or how much they cost?

Thanks!!!

Ouch. The only one of those I ever worked on was a '96. It ended up with a new steering wheel pad. Hopefully, you'll have better luck:

The gray cable from the steering wheel pad is a multiplexed signal, decoded by the radio head. If you're lucky, the cable is damaged and can be repaired.

Thanks very much, especially for including the picture! Your info is very helpful. I'll check out the cable and hope for the best! :)
