Can someone give me a little info on the Stillen short shifter. I am thinking about purchasing one within the next couple weeks if I can gather up some information. Just looking for how much shorter the throw is, how smoothly it moves, etc.

Thanks,
~Jonathan

The Stillen is a nice piece. I have one. Expensive as hell though and more likely to rattle than others. All short shifters will cause a slightly stiffer throw due to the changed fulcrum point in the shifter (that's how it shortens the throw). Put some Redline, Motul, Royal Purple, or NEO gear oil in the gearbox and the effort will go back to normal.

I personally recommend the Courtesy Nissan short shifter. I have one of these as well and like it a lot better than the Stillen. It's also a little over 1/3 the price of the Stillen. My only complaint is that the shift lever is a little high. I had to cut the threads off it, but that didn't matter since I'm using a MOMO shift knob.

Oops. :jump:

Courtesy Nissan (800) 527-1909. Just tell them you want the their short shifter for the 91 SE-R. It's the same thing. :D
