View Full Version : Skyline pricing Skyline pricing nader3890 08-06-2006, 08:21 PM Thanks, Nate slowlyevolving 08-07-2006, 02:01 AM I was wondering how much do you think a 1999 GTR34 with 150,000 to 200,000 miles would cost? Thanks, Nate Your talking about miles not kilometers, right? I can't recall ever seeing a R34 with that many miles on it. In my opinion, I would think an R34 with that many miles would probably run you about $17k-$28k or so. nader3890 08-07-2006, 05:46 PM man thats still way to much for me. i think (when i get the money) ill buy a r32 gt-r then get a r34 conversion kit slowlyevolving 08-07-2006, 06:58 PM man thats still way to much for me. i think (when i get the money) ill buy a r32 gt-r then get a r34 conversion kit Don't get me wrong, I am not expert but, from what I have seen with all skylines (especially the R34) people try to sqeeze every last penny out them. You might be able to find one cheaper. I just wouldn't bet your lunch money on it! nader3890 08-07-2006, 09:08 PM So what are you saying, the r34 GT-R would be cheaper to buy, import from japan, and pay for the legalization? slowlyevolving 08-07-2006, 10:03 PM So what are you saying, the r34 GT-R would be cheaper to buy, import from japan, and pay for the legalization? No...it would be cheaper to buy an R32 or R33 and import it from Japan. As far as legalization goes...you can't legalize a R32 or R34 since there is no data saying that these vehicles can be modified to comply with FMVSS. From I have read, there are only two companies that are willing to convert a R33. http://www.gnkauto.com and j.k. technologies. It is heard that both of these companies are charging upwards of $25k - $30k for the conversion process. RX-7 Steve 08-07-2006, 10:08 PM slowlyevolving, is that your Skyline in your avatar? Do you have a larger pic of it? slowlyevolving 08-08-2006, 05:50 AM slowlyevolving, is that your Skyline in your avatar? Do you have a larger pic of it? :grinno: Man, I could only WISH that was my skyline! It's just one of many pics of R34's that I have found and liked. This is what I want :grinyes: I will just have to wait my turn like everyone else and get the money for it and hopefully catch someone that is selling theres. http://autoimportcraze.com/images/cars/skyliner34/cl2.jpg Real GTR 08-09-2006, 02:50 AM No...it would be cheaper to buy an R32 or R33 and import it from Japan. Actually your a little incorrect, they can do the nesscery mods but they still can't federaly legalize them. Neither company has been able to take care of the OBD2 issue. slowlyevolving 08-09-2006, 03:29 AM Actually your a little incorrect, they can do the nesscery mods but they still can't federaly legalize them. Neither company has been able to take care of the OBD2 issue. I am almost positive that I read somewhere that the R33 doesn't have an OBD II problem. If I find out where that is I will make sure I post it. Real GTR 08-09-2006, 01:52 PM I am almost positive that I read somewhere that the R33 doesn't have an OBD II problem. If I find out where that is I will make sure I post it. 1995 R33's don't have an issue because they have an OBD1 system. 96 and above do because they dont have an OBD2 system built in. SamuraiSam 08-17-2006, 03:07 AM 1995 R33 are also not eligable for importation http://forums.clubsi.com/images/graemlins/suicide-santa.gif hebgonzalez 09-09-2006, 02:32 PM You can get a legalized R33 GTS-T titled and street ready for 26,000 USD on www.fast4wheels.com (http://www.fast4wheels.com) . They have a bunch of them for sale already here in the U.S. DylanTrott 09-09-2006, 04:04 PM Is that place legit? Also do you need a special permit to drive with the wheel on the right? Real GTR 09-09-2006, 04:43 PM Is that place legit? Also do you need a special permit to drive with the wheel on the right? Not 100 legal they maybe able to get them here but there not Federaly legal. DylanTrott 09-09-2006, 06:05 PM So then they are illegal. You can't have something that is sorta kinda legal. So then how do they get off saying they are legal? Or is it just for like track stuff? Real GTR 09-10-2006, 05:32 PM So then they are illegal. You can't have something that is sorta kinda legal. So then how do they get off saying they are legal? Or is it just for like track stuff? The state there in is allowing them to get away with it But the laws there violating is on a federal level. DylanTrott 09-11-2006, 10:17 PM Thats really weird. Hmm well I sent him an email asking if they were legal. And he replied they were 100% legal. I don't know how the feds let that go. I don't mind I'm just curious. Real GTR 09-11-2006, 11:59 PM Thats really weird. Hmm well I sent him an email asking if they were legal. And he replied they were 100% legal. I don't know how the feds let that go. I don't mind I'm just curious. Ask him how there getting around the EPA requirement for OBD2 because anything imported 96 and up have to meet that? At present there's no certified EPA OBD2 system for skylines. DylanTrott 09-12-2006, 12:04 AM Will do! I have one question though. How is your Skyline legal? Is it 'cus of the model? Real GTR 09-12-2006, 12:32 AM Will do! I have one question though. How is your Skyline legal? Is it 'cus of the model? I got my car from MotoRex back when they were actually doing things right. It's a 95 anything 95 and under has to have a OBD1 system which all GT-R's under 95 have. Street Show 09-14-2006, 11:57 AM Well mine was $100,000 with 13k on it DylanTrott 09-17-2006, 06:23 PM Ooo. Okay. Thats awesome. RealGTR: How much was yours? Sorry if I allreadyasked. Real GTR 09-18-2006, 06:48 PM Ooo. Okay. Thats awesome. RealGTR: How much was yours? Sorry if I allreadyasked. It was 46,000, out the door with all the paperwork and everything, had 30k miles and some advan RG's, greddy exhaust, and HKS intake pods. DylanTrott 09-18-2006, 06:52 PM That is an amazing deal! How many miles does it have on it now? Real GTR 09-19-2006, 08:09 AM That is an amazing deal! How many miles does it have on it now? 44,000 and only break in and dyno miles on the new motor (1000 miles) DylanTrott 09-19-2006, 08:16 AM Sweet dude! New engine is where its at. beatboxn420 11-13-2006, 05:52 PM Couldnt you just take the OBD2 and convert it to a OBD1 in 96+ models? Real GTR 11-13-2006, 11:01 PM Couldnt you just take the OBD2 and convert it to a OBD1 in 96+ models? Nope federal lasw say's it has to be obd2. That's one of the things MotoRex got in trouble for. jwacho 11-14-2006, 08:46 PM So do you think it is easier to buy one legalized already or import one? Real GTR 11-14-2006, 11:22 PM So do you think it is easier to buy one legalized already or import one? IT depends on how much money you have I know of 3 MotoRex legal skylines for sale. There still considered legal by the federal goverment. There around 50K but they have motor mods. SamuraiSam 11-18-2006, 08:40 AM So do you think it is easier to buy one legalized already or import one? It is not possible to legalize a GT-R or any Skyline for that matter at this point in time, so being that it's impossible, it's definetly going to be easier to buy an already Federalized car. GoGreenMan 11-20-2006, 07:52 PM I lived in Japan for 3 yrs and you could get a REALLY nice Skyline GTR for only like ¥1000000(about $10,000) and I am talkin REALLY nice. Sucks don't it! my1967stang 12-23-2006, 05:41 PM So I shoudn't even attempt to buy a Skyline, eventhough I'm not looking to get one for another 5-10 yrs.
