I was going to work the other night and I turned on the bright lights by flipping the switch forward and the lights shut off. The only lights that stayed on were the Daytime running light and tail lights. I then pulled the switch to manually turn the brights on and the came on fine. I used this method for about a week just pull the switch towards me and the brights worked fine. The other night I pulled the switch back and the brights stuck on and I couldn't shut them off. Then the shut off and turned themselves back to bright and off and on again repeatedly. Next time in the car the brights will not operate at all when the switch goes forward the lights all turn off besides the daytime running light and when I pull the switch towards me nothing at all happens. Is this in the turnsignal switch or any relays?

I am stumped

It sounds like the multifunction switch (turn signal stalk). The GM service manual does not show any relays that could cause the problem.

What do I have to do to replace the turn signal stalk? Do I need to take the steering wheel off or can I just crack the column and do it from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
andy
