acura 3.0 cl vs 95 Ford tauras sholivephc 08-17-2002, 04:21 PM whats faster a acura 3.0 cl 98 or a tauras sho 93-95 MaximusGTR 11-19-2002, 05:51 AM The sho would be 5 speed and therefore that cl would get well urm , shat on!! Paonessa 01-20-2003, 12:12 PM yup. especially if it's a 95 sho with the yamaha tuned engine MaximusGTR 01-21-2003, 03:43 AM The SHO is badass, but people just don't really know about it, the new ones are a POS, I beat one in the max, and its a v8, Like you said though, the 90 to 95 with the YAMAHA is sweet!!!! Paonessa 01-21-2003, 04:07 PM definitely, my friend has a 5 speed 95 SHO. i beat him but it's definitely quick. his is the 3.2 high output 6 cylinder. i don't think they make 8 cyliner ones. unless the new ones are 8's. after they chaged the body style of the taurus i lost all interest. the SHO was the ultimate sleeper MaximusGTR 01-21-2003, 04:28 PM I agree, and the new ones are V8's, I only seen 1 though, I shit you not, since the new design, I only seen 1 v8 SHO... That should tell you something Paonessa 01-21-2003, 10:17 PM i'm gonna be on the look-out for one now. MaximusGTR 01-22-2003, 03:23 AM You can tell them apart from the rest because the 2 exaust pipes are the signature as well as it saying v8 on the side:D look out for them???? Ha, good luck!!!!:D Polygon 01-22-2003, 11:31 AM Yamaha engine: Ownage Ford Engine: Owned Yamahasho 02-01-2003, 12:35 PM 89 SHOs are the fastest because they are the lightest. 89-95 All had the Yamaha V6 220hp 200ft-lbs. 89-92 were all 3.0liter MTXs. 93-95 Automatics became more available with 3.2liter 220hp and 215ft-lbs. The ATX's are slower than the MTX 5 speeds. 96-99 (Gen III oval) came with a 3.4 V8 and only an ATX. The V8 SHO are much heavier than the V6 SHOs. Paonessa 02-08-2003, 05:13 PM i heard that the yamaha engines were capable of much more power than they actually put out and that ford tuned them down. Any truth? Yamahasho 02-08-2003, 05:24 PM Yes, Yamaha designed the 3 liter motor to push 300hp. Ford gave it a really crappy exhaust, lower cam profiles, installed horns in the runners, and retarded the timing. There are people with 300hp NA SHO motors. I am trying to find a very low milage 3.2(found in Auto's) to swap in. The motor was severly overbuilt, in fact, there is a guy in my club with a blower on his pushing 445.3 hp to the wheels(530 hp crank) on stock internals. Paonessa 02-08-2003, 05:29 PM i'll bet he pisses of the guys in the mustangs MaximusGTR 02-09-2003, 04:36 AM Those SHO's are real sleepers, but the value on them is Shit. I saw two of them on sale next to a train track. one of them had 17's on them but I'm cool. MaximusGTR 02-09-2003, 04:37 AM They were only asking for like 2 grand for them. 1 89 and 1 90. Paonessa 02-09-2003, 12:13 PM fords aren't really known for their resale value. 2 grand for a 14 year old car isn't too cheap anyway. MaximusGTR 02-09-2003, 02:26 PM Originally posted by Paonessa fords aren't really known for their resale value. 2 grand for a 14 year old car isn't too cheap anyway. They were both modded and sold by the same person though. Yamahasho 02-09-2003, 03:14 PM Yeah, the value went way down on the first generations. There are still some second generations that can ask quite a bit of money. I paid $8,500 for my excellent condition second generation. They aren't cheap to maintain or mod, ask anyone who ones one and they will tell you the same. I like them because they are sleepers, I can drive around unoticed most of the time:D . Plus for the initial buying price, they keep up with and beat cars that cost up to $30k and $40k. MiamiSHO 08-03-2003, 09:41 PM lol yeah i bought my SHO for 1 grand, love it though except i cant get any civics or integras to race me cuz i look crazy revving my engine in a taurus GTStang 08-04-2003, 06:51 PM Biggest hurt on resale value of SHO is the cost to maintain them. And because of that most people have one's that everything on it is way overdue. I bet most SHO at 100,000 miles need about 5G in parts and labor to be back in top mechanical shape. . vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
