I have a 97 Cavalier Z24 and it sat for a while. Now I want to use it as a work car. I recently changed the battery b/c it was dead when I tried to start it. After that it started up but when I let off the gas it won't stay started. It starts just fine and it has a full tank of gas. And it runs fine after it starts but when I let off the gas is when it dies. I have a few theories that it may be the 02 sensors but I changed the one closest to the engine before it sat. I also thought about the Idle Air Control valve. But I really have no idea. Just hoping that someone else has had thos problem and can let me know what they did to fix it. ANY help is REALLY appreciated!!!

Does it just cut off and die? Or does it sputter like it's out of gas, I know you said it has a full tank. Maybe something with the fuel not getting there like clogged injectors or something?

It doesn't sputter any. It just dies RPM's drop andit dies. Thought about fuel pump or filter but the filter is relativly new..they are cheap so may change again. I rigged it to run for a while and didn't have any problems when I did that so don't think it's the pump. Other than that I don't know.
