Hi, i'm new the the fourm, and hoping to get a little help. I have a 87 Escort Wagon, Single Port Fuel Ingection. When I start it up, it will rev up to a high rpm for a few secends, then drop down to a point where it will almost stall, then go back to a high rpm. It keeps doing this over and over until i put into gear. Anybody have any thoughts on how i might go about fixing it?

Does that model have the barometric sensor? If so, they sometimes can cause this symptom.
