I Have An 86 S-10 With The 2.5 4cyl. 4 Spd. It Had Been Cutting Out Real Bad. A Couple Weeks Ago I Replaced The Fuel Filter. After Replacing The Filter It Ran Like New For 10-12 Miles Then Started Acting Up Worse Than Ever. A Friend Of Mine Thought The Fuel Pump Was Going Bad So We Replaced It Last Thursday. After Replacing The Pump It Ran Great For 30 Miles Or So, Now It Is As Bad As It Ever Was. Im Lost As To What Could Be Wrong. Does Anyone Have Any Ideas? Thanks For Any Help

I agree with cherokee, sounds like you have junk in the tank, if so, you'll need to clean it out and replace the filter again . . . good luck

My 87 ' was doing that real bad last year, and it turned out that it needed new plugs, wires, and a good tune up.. But, it could be junk in your tank.

What about the 02 sensor? Over the years a bad 02 sensor will do some very strange stuff. Ones the defy common sense. Like the one time my car would die everytime I would put it in reverse. It would start right back up. 02 sensor had many miles on it. I changed it and the problem went away. Never tripped the CEL either. How many miles does your 02 sensor have on it? Problems like your's are very frustrating to say the least. Let us know what you find out.
