Is a solid axle conversion not possible on a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1/2ton? I searched everywhere on the internet and can't find a kit for it. :uhoh:

One place to check for help is GMfullsize.com under lifted suspension and off road. Search there, you should find your answer. I know it can be done, plenty of guys over there have. But only the hard core off roaders find it economically plausible. I believe you are looking at 3k+ to do it. But dont hold me to that. A lot of the money is dependant on the type of SFA you are gonna put in, GM 10 or 14 bolt, dana 60. What type of locker your gonna run. Like I said before, all dependant on what your intentions are.

Never really answered your question. I'm not sure of a kit, you would probably just have to piece one together.

ORU sells kits for the HD trucks and OBS trucks. Not NBS half ton, and it's expensive - $1000 axle not included.

So, it can be done, but it has to be custom.

Thanks for the info. I read on another forum that it can't be done because the 2000 new body style for the 1/2ton has a boxed frame or somethin. :uhoh:
