Jeep engine cooling problem Help!!!

2000 Jeep GRND cherokee ltd 110,000 miles - Engine moves up to 220-230 in warm weather with AC on. When trailoring boat, engine heats up to 230 + and I have to watch it or it will overheat!! Turning heat on high usually helps and I have to keep it around 55 mph when towing. Already hooked it up to pressure so no leaks, had the radiator pulled, cleaned, and flushed, replaced the clutch fan, and added a tranny cooler. Any ideas what to try next?

Is it a 4.0 liter engine? If it is, it also has an electric fan that may not be working properly.

I have V8 4.7L, it does have an electric fan, and I have verified it is running. Is it possible that cleaning the radiator wasn't enough and I need a new one?

Check the thermostat that could possibly be your problem. Might have a failing water pump too.

the 99-00 4.7L GCs have a mediocre cooling system. it does it's job, but if it's very hot and you are running the a/c (especially towing) it falls a little short. that's why the 01+ uses a different hydraulic fan system. does your jeep have the auxiliary transmission and power steering coolers? I would recommend adding an engine oil cooler. they make kits that install before you put the oil filter on. try summitracing.com. the newer style fan is like $400 + $150 for the new PS pump. (plus all the hoses)

replace the Thermostat with a cooler one (180 degre or even cooler 160 degree, 195 is stock). I run a 160 in my 94 ZJ 5.2L and it works great, I was worried about setting a check engine light, but it's been 2 years and never got one.
