rsx-s vs honda accord h22daveersx-s 07-27-2006, 10:14 AM About a week a go i was on my lunch time heading home with my type-s, that i think looks really nice since i change my rims for 17 inch chrome and dropped the car for 2 1/4 inches. I wasn't expecting anything when this teenager with he's accord stop beside me at the red light. I saw the big tacometer on is dash and the guy looks at me and start to rev is car. I started reving and we were both waiting for the greenlight. " I know that down here (quebec, canada) all the kids swap into there honda's b-16, b-18 and h-22..." so i wasn't confident even do he had a 92 accord! Bang, green light; i launch about 2800 rpms and floor it untill i it 8000 rpms, perfect shift into second for him and me and now it's to close to say who will win, shifted into third and now ia have 2 bumpers in front of him and were doing 120 kmph (72 mph). We had to stop but we were near the highway so he propose me to go on it. I said let's go! When we arrived on the highway it was perfect, no car at all! So we sart the second lunch at 40 mph: Totally different story, he keeps up with me untill 110 mph and after that, ciao man, he was getting far behind...I stoped and i ask him : so what do you have and he said to me a h-22 but he didn't change the original exhaust so the flow wasn't good...He asked me for a last launch at 0 mph: we stoped in the midle of the highway and at third horn sound we guned it,: It was like the first race but at high speed he coudn't keep up with me...I believe that the fact he has is original exhaust, wich is preddy small, could make a remarquable difference. Notice: i only have a C.A.I for engine mods, and pull out spare tire and the tools for lighter weight....Voilą G-man422 07-27-2006, 10:20 AM nice kills man. that kid needs to get some better exaust for sure, lol. civicHBsi91 07-28-2006, 07:15 PM You really put chrome rims on a type s? : ( daveersx-s 07-31-2006, 01:52 PM I know chrome rims are heavy but it really looks good. Plus, the roads here in Quebec (Canada) are really rough! Chrome rims are solid, nice but heavy...So i did the compromise between performance and style but to be honnest, im really not sure if there a difference or not?! It's only 17 so it's not the weight of 18 inches. I even took one of my 16 inches stock rim and the chrome one on a balnce and the weight difference was only 2 pounds. Finally if i wanna go on the track i can put my stock rims and that,s it and maybe next year ill buy other rims. What are u suggesting me???:naughty: 00accord44 07-31-2006, 07:46 PM I don't see the connection between rough roads and the necessity for chrome rims. But regardless of that, good kills... even if it was against an H22 Accord  daveersx-s 08-01-2006, 01:02 PM I don't see the connection between rough roads and the necessity for chrome rims. But regardless of that, good kills... even if it was against an H22 Accord  It's not a necessity, it's because chrome rims are more solid than the light weight rims. One of my friend bought nice light weight rims for he's wrx and after 1 summer season there good for scrap. Believe , the road down here comes with plenny of potholes that can damage your rims real bad and real quick.:banghead: GScivic7 08-15-2006, 06:51 PM how are chrome wheels more solid? they're just alloy wheels dipped in a chrome bath. guarantee your wheels aren't stronger than a set of lightweight forged wheels daveersx-s 08-16-2006, 10:06 AM how are chrome wheels more solid? they're just alloy wheels dipped in a chrome bath. guarantee your wheels aren't stronger than a set of lightweight forged wheels tht's what wverybody told me... and maybe there,s dirfferent quality for lightweight rims? To be honnest, i don't care, i just love chrome rims and and a few persons told me that chrome rims are usually solid rims...voilą I do know that it looks relly nice on my car.:smokin: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
