'92 Metro w/ Racing StripesxXezekielXx 07-23-2006, 01:00 PM hey guys.. i've had a lot of free time this summer, so i decided to start a new project on my '92 Metro. it's a funny little car (has gone through 3 engines and 300k+ miles, if i remember right), so i decided to give it some new life with a couple yellow racing stripes. i'm not into modding cars at all (this is the first real thing i've ever done), so it was just a fun new experience. also, it's of note that i didn't actually use real car paint; i used normal old spray paint you'd find at Wal-Mart (which is where i got it, yes :p ). hopefully it'll last a while, but if not, i took some good pictures... i posted three blogs over the three days i did the stripes, so check out the following links: Day 1: http://www.ezekielvictor.com/blogs/2006_07_19/main.php Day 2: http://www.ezekielvictor.com/blogs/2006_07_20/main.php Day 3: http://www.ezekielvictor.com/blogs/2006_07_21/main.php MetroManiac 07-23-2006, 01:34 PM Hey, That looks pretty good. I hope you scuffed, cleaned and primed the areas where you painted the stripes. Prep is the most important part of any painting process. Looks great though! xXezekielXx 07-23-2006, 02:16 PM well, i don't know what "scuffed" and "primed" mean, but i cleaned and sanded it before. :icon16: oh also, how much do you think it'd cost to remove that big dent/scrape on the passenger door? geozukigti 07-23-2006, 10:36 PM about as much as a door costs at the junkyard :grinyes: Waterboymp 07-28-2006, 07:45 AM Wow! Nice job! Now I'm thinking of doing stipes on my 2000 Metro. Hadn't thought of actually painting them on. Ebay's kinda expensive and after all, I do drive a Metro! What would you prime the car with? xXezekielXx 07-28-2006, 03:34 PM prime it? =x i don't know... i just washed down the proper areas, scrubbed them with a soft brush to get off some gunk, then used some fine sandpaper specifically made for cars. that pretty much cleaned it up enough in the areas i wanted to paint. =P vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
