It's even got the same exact format and pictures. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=558992 blazee 07-22-2006, 11:19 AM It's been posted on several sites for a long time. It needed to be posted here because we're not allowed to link to other forums. The rules were a little fuzzy when I gave you the link, but now that the rules have been updated, its very clear that absolutely no linking to other forums is allowed. rlith 07-22-2006, 03:58 PM :repost: I call DUPE (propogated by the both of you) You are now guilty of plagurizing yourself. Yep, copied from myself :) Regardless, It was of help to me, and thanks for that. jhong1226 07-23-2006, 12:51 AM you guys should post this in the fact section. tinter 06-14-2007, 06:05 PM I have a 96 blazer with a broken hazard and the dealers and wreckers all same the same thing... 95 96 97 all have to replace multi switch to replace hazard ...tey wont even sell the hazard sep. called gm they say same thing...hmmmmm blazee 06-14-2007, 06:10 PM They told me the same thing with my 98. You have to give them the part number and tell them to look it up. After they know that you know the part exists they will usually sell it to you. Otherwise, it's more profitable for them to sell you the $150 part vs. the $20 part. tinter 06-14-2007, 06:42 PM ok that sounds like something they would do ...perfect do you have a GM part number for me..thanks a mill rlith 06-15-2007, 07:05 AM ok that sounds like something they would do ...perfect do you have a GM part number for me..thanks a mill Did you even bother to read the very 1st message in this thread? hernandez3674 07-08-2007, 03:48 PM I just purchased my 97 blazer and was in the process of removing the column cover and all.. then i gave up and found this thread... purchased the part listed and it worked perfect.. Thanks.. next time i will look here before i attemt a repair. fdogg2009 12-18-2007, 10:42 PM does the hazard switch also control the turn signals? cuz i broke mine today and the turn signals dont work either. im assuming the multifunction switch still works because my wipers, cruise control, brights, etc. all still work just not the turn signals. i found this thread really helpful thusfar in removing the broken one but still have to get the part. help??? nockam 03-16-2008, 01:52 PM Has anyone tried this on a 96 bravada? I have had a few shops and a dealer tell me that these are normally modules that can be replaced but in a 96 the entire steering column has to be replace...... im thinking they are yanking my chain. I found another way to fix it but every few months it acts up. I pushed the broken button down enough to where the hazards were off and the blinkers still functioned. Marked that spot on the broken off piece and drilled a hole through it. Then fastened it down with zip ties around the steering column. the_duponts 03-02-2009, 04:25 AM Thank you very much. I just used this to repair the hazard switch my 98 Oldsmobile Bravada to fix the lights. The part number worked perfectly. GM would not sell it to separately me but Chevy (next door) had one in stock. Solved a long time problem with lights. Bluesax 04-27-2009, 01:16 PM OK OK. So I'm a moron! But something ain't right with this switch. 97 S10, hazard switch broken off inside. I got the part from the dealer but can't get the old switch to pull out. It comes up only so far and it gets caught, stops, hangs up, whatever you want to call it. And the needle nose is starting to break off pieces of the plastic. I don't want to just keep tearing it up. What's it catching on? Is there another way to 'pull it straight out?' Duh. 96jimmy4doorstock 08-05-2009, 08:28 PM Thank you so much for this. What happened to me was, I was taking off the dash thing to install an aftermarket stereo, and it broke the hazard button. The flashers wouldn't go off. I just unplugged the fuse from the box and went without the turn signals (and know I know the brake lights as well) until my dad drove it one day and found out. Now I have to fix it and luckily I found this thread in time (he wanted me to fix it by today because I have to take my dog in to the vet tomorrow) 96jimmy4doorstock 08-05-2009, 10:42 PM Ok I have a question: How does the button stick in? It looks as though there was a rod or spring that broke off/got lost in the process of it breaking. I manged to remove the old one and I could super glue it. Any ideas anyone? Is there a rod or spring? Will super gluing work? http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/487/dscn2696s.th.jpg (http://img36.imageshack.us/i/dscn2696s.jpg/) 96jimmy4doorstock 08-06-2009, 12:23 AM Ok I just cut the spring in half or so, and put the thing back in and it works fine. I am going to glue the button back on later. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
