Nice, I thought so but wasn't 100% sure. Yours looks glossier than mine does. Or is it just from the camera flash?

Are you painting inside close doors or outside? If it's inside you can, otherwise it needs to be pretty dry to paint, otherwise it won't cure correctly, especially on what you're painting. Are you spraying with a rattle can or with a paint gun? If you want some stuff that's made for dashes and what not, try Dupont Vinyl Color, that's what I used on my car and it's awesome. And have fun putting that dash back in, I remember when mine was like that, it's alot easier taking shit out than putting it back together....or at least correctly :)

nice, after seeing the dash ripped out makes me think twice about wanting to paint mine...
Gthompson where do u get Black Dupont Vinyl Color?
xavier, if you could do a write up about ripping the dash out, and even putting it back in that would be awesome. Its the only part on my car I havent messed with, kinda scares me...I dont want everything to rattle and shit when I put it back together.

that exactly what im useing garret.....its in a blue can i got flat black but the ONLY fucking place in my town that has it is walmart.. lmao. the dash isnt exactly hard to take out but like he said i think im gana have fun puting it back in but ill definatly do a wrie up puting it back in take pics of all the bolts and where there at because that was the hard part in takeing it out was finding all the bolts and seeing what u have to take off and move.

Travis you got a Dupont product at WalMart? Or is it some off brand? I got mine at an automotive paint store, so that's what you'll have to look for gstclips. It's actually a mixable color so both the orange and silver were mixed to match the outside of my car, and it's a damn good match too! I would recommend it to anyone.

i think its just an off brand but it seems to work just as good and has a very nice finish. but it is called vinal color.

I'm using the dupont one on my interior Garret. Does it hold up pretty well after its all done properly? I am worried mine will come off with time. I tried scratching it with my fingernail really hard and it wouldn't come off but the fear is still there. lol

It will rub and scratch off over time as any paint will, but just put more coats on the areas that get the most abuse (arm rest/center council, door handles, etc) and you should be good to go.

Sweet, did you ever use duponts vinyl dye on any seats? I have some but have been holding out on the seats because I don't wanna have the black rub off on clothing and such if its no good... I figure the leather absorbs it and just stains it black when you use it?

Should have left the center of the steering wheel black. Takes away from the rest of the white too much. :2cents:
Other than that it looks really good.

I was very close to using a dye for my seats, but I'm not sure if it was Dupont's vinyl dye or a leather dye that they had. Either way, I decided not to because I didn't want to end up having the leather crack and what not after some use and showing through on the paint, but I have seen some seats that have been dyed since then and they seemed to have turned out pretty well. If you use it, you should definitely let me know how it turns out and get some pics!

The white is too flashy IMO. I would have just went straight black. It will get a lot dirtier also. Scrapes and skids will stick out like sore thumbs.

Nicely done. I'm not too keen on the Mitsu. logo on the passenger airbag, but overall it turned out very well.
is there a certain kind of paint that you can buy that wont wear off bad like if you were painting the arm rest on the door
Yes there is actually, it's called "Be Careful". You can pick it up at any place where paint is sold.

Well I used BULL DOG PRIMER and some vinyl paint.
I didnt use clear coat, the paint never chips or even fades! The bull dog primer is amazing!
I suppose clear coat would add protection and make it glossy...
If you want to make it glossy I say lay some fiberglass resin over the piece(s) you wish to paint, then obviously smooth them out and take them to be painted at a body shop.
Then you will get a real nice interior, thats what I am doing now.
