um wow....in all seriousness.... i was about to make a thread on 3si saying can it be done....i know it sounds dumb but the 3/s engine bays are pretty dam hott-i was thinking an aftermarket intercooler wouldnt be a bad idea.... especially because with the looks of it in the front bumber is just plain sexy - not to mention the cooler air flow into the engine... i thought it might add 10hp or so maybe more but at the ebay cost with pipes of under 300? thats cheaper then a 3sx downpipe at 310-with pretty similiar gains.... sorry but i guess i have part rice in me? kinda weird bc i dont really like rice but the fact is ive seriously thought about it--- hm :(

You'd get the exact same effect by just getting a CAI that feeds down into the fender well or another spot that's not in the engine bay. The intercooler won't do anything because the air you're sucking into the filter is the same heat as the air that's passing through over the intercooler. Now, if you hooked up some intercooler sprayers on that thing you'd see some gains, but you'd be better off with a direct water/methonal injection kit. Much cheaper and better gains, but still, this stuff really doesnt help N/A cars out to make it worth it.

That's an NA neon. There is no turbo. The pipe goes to the throttle body.

OMG i feel like such a dumbass that I needed to do a double take. Initially it seemed like a normal turbo piping feeling into the intecooler, then fter a few seconds of starring at it, I finally realised the air filter feeding straight into the IC.
I agree, not sure if it tops all rice but its certainly up there.

I;ve seen this before on a couple of hondas. i guess if you wanted to be cool you could mount the air filter right next to the exhaust so when it passes through the intercooler it actually does cool it a little :rofl: . It's lame none the less. Even if he was just test fitting his IC he could of still left the piping off till when he hooked the turbo up. Super lame.
