What's up with the U-Joints: HELP

What's up with these u-joints on this Mazda pickup?
Anyway, I have a 1992 Mazda B2200 that is my work pickup (22 mpg versus 11 in my other pickup.... oh yeah!) and the carrier bearing is starting to go out. Now,I have replaced u-joints and carrier bearings on other vehicles but I have heard these are different and called "staked" u-joints. I have tried to find some info on this forum and the internet but haven't really came up with much. Basically has anyone replaced the u-joints and/or carrier bearing themselves and if so what was infolved? My local Advance Auto Parts can get the u-joints for $11.00-$12.00 but they cost $75.00 each at the Mazda dealer...am I missing something here? Any help would be appreciated.
(Oh yeah, I also tryed to check out Arizona Drive Lines but I think their website is screwed up right now).
