96 sub with soft brakeswhiplash3e 07-19-2006, 04:22 PM I had to jump on the brakes hard one night to miss a deer, ever since then I have a soft feel on the brake pedal. I changed the brake booster, to get rid of the whoosing sound, but that did not cure the pedal feel. Any Ideas? Thanks Joe Bloggs 07-23-2006, 08:12 PM how did you replace the booster. I thought it was hydraulic boost from the power steering pump. any way I got soft brakes too and no one seems able to fix it. I blew a gront brake line and since it got replaced I have had it in 3 different brake shops and they cant get my truck to have good brakes like it use to 94sportsedan 07-25-2006, 03:28 AM I believe the K2500's had the hydraulic brake booster. 2ndly, there is a TSB for brake proportioning valve replacement 96-99. Helps engage the rear brakes a tad quicker resulting in less nose dive and a firmer pedal. whiplash3e 07-25-2006, 10:20 AM Thanks 94sportsedan for the info... Could you give me more on this? Like where to find it and what it is called so I can get one.. Thanks 94sportsedan 07-25-2006, 05:09 PM TSB 9905240001 PN#12548265 dealer or gmpartsdirect.com About 20-45 minutes to replace, depends how rusty the brake lines are. Then Just need to do a brake bleed job. whiplash3e 07-25-2006, 05:39 PM Thank you for all your help 94sportsedan.... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
