I haven't ever bought a car yet (I'm 19), but I have come to have a real affinity for older makes. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what make and year this car is. I'm not nearly experienced or skilled enough to be able to tell just from seeing a picture.

Thanks!

Looks like a 70 or 71 I'd guess. A 4 door? You might try posting in the Chrysler forum.

Ya, a guy at another website said 1970 Chrysler Newport. I did some searching, and that seems right. :)

it's not a newport. Look at the grille badge? it legibly says Ch----r

i think it's a '71.

Take a look at this site, lots of info on a resto of a 71 Newport. Look at the grill in the advertisement. I bet it says Chrysler, not Charger.

It's definitely not a Charger. In the good ole days Chargers were all 2 door, no 4 doors. The badge on this one does say Chrysler, probably a Newport. I was wondering, what do you like about this car? If this is what you really are looking for, you should be able to find one cheap, if you can find one.

It would be either a Chrysler Newport or New Yorker. Probably later 60s or early 70s. Chargers were 2 doors until they came up with the new version that is just a rebadged Magnum.

It's a 71 - 72 Newport.

I do love the "helicopter in the roof" option.
It must make quick work of the traffic jams.

This car is definitely a Chrysler Newport 4-door sedan. This body platform was used from 1969 through 1972, but my instincts say this is a 1970. The base engine in this car was the 383 2-barrrel (400 in 1972). Chrysler Corp did not put small blocks in the full size Chrysler line during those years. This is a very good car in its own right, but not very desirable as others, as a collector car. Anyone who thought this was a Dodge Charger needs to do a little research.

I think this particular year had the S/B option

From the grill it looks alot like a 1972 (could be 70-73) Chrysler New Yorker, which came with 4 doors.
I like the early 70's cars too!

The chrysler newport had a large chrome seperation in the front grill, at least in 1972 from Chilton's.
