Well, it does. ;)

I saw the Celica Action Package on a silver Celica this weekend, and from the front, in oncoming traffic, I mistook it for a new WRX! That thing looks really good. Is the package cosmetic only?

Actually, they put that on the GT-S model, if I'm not mistaken. So it has something to back up the looks.

Unfortunately the action package IS available on the GT. Also, you can get the TRD exhaust, sportivo suspension, rear strut brace, and short shifter right from the dealer when you buy the car. So, you can get more than just looks!

SLOW DOWN!!! THIS IS A NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find the Action Package distasteful. And I even hate the fact that Toyota would rather make a car 'look fast', than BE fast. Not that the GT-S isn't speedy, but it's just no Supra. The TRD kit looks simpler, more subtle yet effective, but the A.P. just looks messy. The nose vent is too large (try looking in the mirror and flaring YOUR nostrils, and the rest of it is just gaudy. The stock Celica still needs a kit, but there isn't anything that great right now (unless you want your kit to say, 'look at me! look at me!').

i think it looks good, but it is kind of sad that you can get a celica gt with the fast package. kind of ricey but not everyone can afford a fast and good looking car. like me:D

morpheus, the GT-S is pretty fast.... fast enough for action package stuff.

6-speed, 180hp, 0-60mph in 6.6s isn't bad

Yeah, the GT-S isn't slow, it's just that each step of appearance should be accompanied by an equal step of performance. When I see some overdone ground effects, I just give a smirk since so many of those cars are built without significant power to back up the looks. For example, I don't want to see a stock A.P. GT-S get creamed by a fully built and blown sleeper 'stang--a race which may have been instigated by the Celica's flashy looks. What I am saying is, to all those who have the Action Package, please look into some power-adders. It's bad enough that the aftermarket provides the poseurs with all the fiberglass gear to give import rodders a bad name; now we even have a factory designing an OEM rice rocket.

Now the GT Action Package is pretty shameful... That is unless someone can get the MR2 Spyder's aftermarket turbo kits to fit on the GT's shared 1ZZ-FE.

yeah i agree with you morpheus.... they should also have performance mods straight from the factory. Maybe they should make them part of the action package
