Show me cool non-US market carsGravitom 08-12-2002, 01:48 AM After cruising these forums for a month I noticed that there are lot of really cool cars outside the US that I never heard of before. For the benefit of us deprived americans, please post pics and brief info on your favorite non-US market cars and educate us about what we are missing. NISSANSPDR 08-12-2002, 02:36 AM I'll just name one...my favorite... Nissan Skyline GT-R (True that you can get them from MotorRex...but if they were legal here they'd be cheaper than what the charge) 2.6 Liter Inline 6 Twin Turbo w/AWD 280HP (really more) 0-60 in about 5 seconds (varies w/generations but that's about right) R32 GT-R (about $30k US) http://www.skylinesdownunder.com/skylinepictures/r32pics/r32no67.jpg R33 GT-R (about $50-55k US) http://www.skylinesdownunder.com/skylinepictures/r33pics/r33no25.jpg R34 GT-R (about $90k US) http://www.skylinesdownunder.com/skylinepictures/r34pics/r34no40.jpg Spec2 Girl 08-12-2002, 04:59 PM Mitsubishi FTO GPX. Awesome car! I had one before I bought my Skyline earlier this year. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/850846gpx.jpg Fliquer 08-12-2002, 08:20 PM http://www.nis-knacks.com/images/pics/s15/xcga7_big.jpg S15 Silvia: 2.0L Turbo RWD (the earlier silvias were brought to the USA badged as 240sx's. 240's have a different engine too) http://www.s-cars.org/s1/Gallery/sportquattrob.jpg Audi Sport Quattro: The original "purpose-built" rally car. The first 4wd sports car. Sold in the mid 80s. NISSANSPDR 08-13-2002, 02:52 AM Fliquer...we had that Audi in the states...it came in 83-86 as the Audi UrQuattro Coupe...here's an example... http://www.bensrallypage.com/forsale/wescoe_audi.html (this one is in Ohio) Here are the specs on the US model...still good...although it didnt have the 200HP that the Euro's had...and it didnt have the big fender flares...but all that could be arranged...the flares could be added and 200HP could probably be achieved w/just a chip...Germans respond very well to chips!!! LOL http://www.geocities.com/ralleyquattro/Ur-qspecsUS.html Here's the specs on the Euro one http://www.geocities.com/ralleyquattro/Ur-qspecs.html Fliquer 08-13-2002, 10:09 AM The urquattro and S quattro were two different cars. The urquattro had a wheelbase that was nearly a foot longer than the S quattro. The S quattro had 300 horsepower. Look at the two cars and you can see a difference. http://www.brentroad.com/photos/NCSU%20DryVer/fullsize/1830.jpg NISSANSPDR 08-13-2002, 12:22 PM 306 HP to be exact Fliquer...0-60 in 4.5 seconds... Hehehe...I had to refer to my Tiff Needell video where he loses to the Evo VI (Top Gear BBC www.taner.net) YellowMaranello 08-28-2002, 11:23 PM http://www.tvr-eng.co.uk/graphics/tuscan_s/new/8.jpg Pure sex right there. ThomasB 09-10-2002, 05:35 AM http://www.mines.u-nancy.fr/international/possibility/images/avantime.jpg http://www.omniauto.it/home/avantime7.jpg Avantime design by RENAULT and produced by Matra from France NISSANSPDR 09-11-2002, 01:36 AM :apuke: ThomasB 09-11-2002, 04:11 AM I like creativity, you're conservative :) Stefanel1 11-11-2002, 09:54 AM I didn't like the Avantime when it appeared, but now (we're seeing it for almost 2 years), I really like it. You've to see one on the road to judge i think. It's original and we must accomodate to the design. But after that you love or you hate ! Same thing for the Vel Satis (new Renault's design). vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
