WRX frequent problems

What's up everyone.

I just got a new job, and I'm looking at getting into a WRX or possibly even a used STi(also looking at a G35 or a 350z and possibly even an old 3000gt VR4). I don't plan on doing any heavy engine modifications, just minor bolt on shit after the warranty goes. Anyways, I'm curious what kind of problems often pop up in both the WRX and the STi? Also, are they covered outside of the warranty because it's a known issue? I figured the best way to figure this out would be to come talk to real people who own the car and drive it every day.

Anything that bugs you would be great, but i'm really just interested in anything that breaks often and in a large portion of the cars. Any help would be great.

Only common 'problem' is the clutch, but that's not because the clutch is weak, it's because of people driving them hard.

depending on which yr u get, shifting into 1st and reverse is tricky.

noy impossible...just tricky ;-)

Reverse is only tricky because it's a straight cut gear vs a bevel cut, there are tricks to get around that. Actually, it's in the Impreza FAQ for the forum.
