I have heard that the ceramic discs give off less dust on to the wheels. Is this true? And do they squeal? Please tell me your thoughts on them.

Thanks

I haven't heard anything as far as less dust. I never had a dust problem with my factory pads. Just wash your truck and it won't look dirty anymore.

Your pads should not squeal. If they do you have several things that could be happening.

1. Your pads are worn out and the wear tabs are squealing to tell you so.

2. The pad break in cycle was not properly followed.

3. The pad anti squeal shims were not installed.

4. The pads are dirty or glazed.

I use carbon metallic brake pads to reduce brake dust. They also are much more responsive. Preformance friction makes a very nice pad for the Tacoma.
