View Full Version : 1992 to 1993 engine swap 1992 to 1993 engine swap abebesheir 07-13-2006, 11:06 PM I was going to have it repaired until I saw a 1993 9c1 for sale with a bad motor but excellent body and rear-end. Now I am thinking about buying the 1993 and putting the motor and tranny from the 1992 into it. What would be the smartest thing to do... repair the 1992 or swap the engine into the 1993 body? Thanks for any replies. capriceowns 07-14-2006, 12:00 AM If buying the 1993 9c1 is cheaper then repairing yours, go for it. And if you can swap motors your self, or know someone with the equipment who can Then hell yeah buy the 93 and put the 92 engine in it idk if there the same engine/trans combo. someone else here would know. silicon212 07-14-2006, 12:26 AM If buying the 1993 9c1 is cheaper then repairing yours, go for it. My guess is that both years 9C1 are going to have, in all likelyhood, the L05 and 4L60 combo - should be same for both years.
