Currently stock rotors and pads on the front.

I am thinking of upgrading to the cross drilled and slotted rotors that Summit racing just released. Anyone have experience with these yet?

I will probably upgrade to EBC greenstuff pads as well.
Otherwise i will go with EBC rotors also.

I don't have any experience with these particular rotors but based on the description I don't think you will go wrong. Also the pads are a good choice for hi-perf. braking.

I ordered the Summit Rotors and EBC Greens today.
I should have them sometime next week, and will probably install them over next weekend.

I will keep you posted as to how they work out.

Today i nstalled the Summit cross drilled rotors and EBC greens.
Also went to Autozone and picked up rear drums, shoes and hardware.

As i am prone to bad luck we had a few problems arise. The driverside spindle was stripped out, and the rear passengerside wheel cylinder was leaking. We also found the driverside brakeline to the caliper is worn and will need replacement, and the brakefluid looked like crap when we bled the system.

I was able to get a junkyard spindle froma 92 Beretta, but had to buy a new wheel cylinder. Next week we will replace the brakeline to the caliper and drain the brakefluid and replace it with new. We also need to do a wheel allignment thanks to the spindle.

Also on deck is an upgraded high output alternator and a new serpentine belt.

After about 50 miles of driving today i can definetly say that the stopping power has increased immensly. I had to ease on the brake pedal to not stop short.

Total cost:

Summit Rotors and EBC pads $165
Duralast Drums, Shoes, hardware $115
Used Spindle $58
New Wheel cylinder $15
Beer for friend for use of shop $45

Not too bad compared to what the avarage garage would charge for a complete brakejob along with the snafus that arrised.

Those do look like some nice rotors!
Good prices too.

But I am against drilling them.
Most of the time after 20-30k miles they will start to get fractural cracks running from the holes that were drilled.

NOW if they are Cast with the holes then they would be great for everyday use.

Sloted rotors arent as prone to metal fatigue becaue they dont penitrate through the intire rotor.
Cast is the best for both.

PowerSlots are what I hav been looking at for my 99s.
They are pricy, $180 front, and $190 for the rear.
But they are cast with slots.

Just my :2cents:

Xeroinfinity,
Summit just dropped the price of those Rotors from $41.95 to $25.50 each.
I called them up and they credited me the difference back to my credit card.
Customer service was great about it.

A good deal got even better.
Maybe you should look into them after all.

I just might hav to see what they hav.
I'm really picky about what I put on for braking.

Its the single most important part of a car,
well other than tunes

Let Us know how they are doing after you break them in for a few weeks.
