I just got my 1991 Ford Thunderbird Super Charged Coupe running today. It goes 125-140 stock and I want to make it into a street racer. I first need to get a new master cylinder and a right tail light. The body is in decent shape except for the broken tail light. I have to change the master cylynder because it is not holding brake fluid. Everything else on the engine seems good and I need to first get new wheels and tires. The stock rims are trashed and my tires I put on it don't have great grip. Once I do that I will geta new paint job. Then a few engine mods and Ill be set. Any suggestions would be great.

There are a few thunderbird owners here that have that generation t-bird. They should be able to help some what.

Should be a nice car when it's finished, btw.

^^ Agreed. Look around in different categories (if you will) on AF and find a section suitable discuss this with them too. Should be nice though. Have any pics you could show us?

do basic performance upgrades such as intake exhaust, yada yada yada, but than if you do have the supporting modifications, you can put a smaller pulley on your s/c in order to run more boost.

Why do newbies always say things like this? My 3000GT used to go like 152 but it wassnt "fast".

i'm assuming because the last car i had went 85 on the speedo ( i think i hit 100 once) you are proud that a car you have has a higher number on the speedo.

my Z has a 160mph speedo, I'd be lucky to do 110mph.

I've done 105mph ... was kinda scary with the blown out suspension... floating all over the place.

Please tell me that when you say it 125-140, you were just kinda guessing...

My 90 accord went 128...in just under 10 miles..woooooo!

anyway, as said above there are a few SCed Tbird owners around, that should be able to point you in the right direction. Smaller pulley, intake and exhaust mods definantly sound like a great place to start to me, but I don't know the limits of hte stock fuel system, so before you start upping the boost, make sure you've got the fuel to do it. Good luck
