Mclaren f1 vs. Geo Metrodarklight 08-10-2002, 01:59 AM Hrmm, this is a close one, im not sure on 1/4 mile, but i think the metro has the top speed here. I think im gonna have to go with the geo on this one....:cwn27: S Brake 08-12-2002, 01:52 AM Car Comparisons Compare any cars and find out what every body else thinks. Just refrain from making stupid comparos like Viper vs. Geo Metro :) you should be shot:p i went mclaren for some strange reason TatII 08-12-2002, 01:41 PM well the geo metro has ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm what does it have over the mclaren? ooooo i know~ you can buy around 200 of them for the price of one. now all you gotta do is put them all together and make one giant geo planet and it will crush the mc laren. that the only way i think of it. |Banchi1O5| 08-18-2002, 12:15 AM well in my mind they are exactly even but since the poll says that 5,000,000 of you af'ers are going for the metro - and i wouldnt want to be wrong- ill go metro as well MattyG 08-20-2002, 11:08 PM Is the Metro lowered and does it have stickers? TatII 08-21-2002, 12:31 AM holy shit!! look at the polls!!!! |Banchi1O5| 08-21-2002, 12:38 PM could it be that the metro has much better road handling - i mean the mclaren might have it on all out lateral g's but the metro has a much more liberal and direct road feeling darklight 08-22-2002, 06:44 PM exactly what i mean....:flash: |Banchi1O5| 08-22-2002, 07:30 PM im thinkin that if we lowered the rear diff. gearing we might be able to get the metro to take the f1 to school in the quarter - what do you guys think? anyone tryed a conversion like this b4? im really suprised its not much more popular! :) YogsVR4 08-22-2002, 10:40 PM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! darklight 08-23-2002, 09:45 PM well, im preety sure the geo could be lighter, maybe take out some screws and stuff, it should be a light car- an inline 3 right? |Banchi1O5| 08-23-2002, 11:18 PM Originally posted by darklight well, im preety sure the geo could be lighter, maybe take out some screws and stuff, it should be a light car- an inline 3 right? yes - seems very logical which brings me to my next point Most people look at the well-formulated Geo Inline 3 and see it as a High Rev Engine - And while it does have awesome hp numbers at these higher revs it has very nice low range torque for its modest displacement. This helps off the line greatly as well as to take advantage of the short-throw close-ratio 5 speed transmission that is above average even in this class of exotic's. ttlamb 08-23-2002, 11:22 PM Is the right seat taken out on the metro? |Banchi1O5| 08-23-2002, 11:34 PM hrmm im not sure if this would be for the best could it be that this might offset the balance of the metro. I mean the car has been precisely tuned straight out of the factory, i dont know if it will take to being gutted really well since it has been made as a factory built race car what do you think? ttlamb 08-23-2002, 11:41 PM your right it would definitely handle better doing those 90 degree above 120 mph |Banchi1O5| 08-23-2002, 11:54 PM yes i would have to agree but i do believe we are leaving out the metro's cousin - the storm im not really sure of the characteristics of this car nor the class it falls under - but im thinking its along the lines of super-luxery - much like the new bugatti veyron ttlamb 08-24-2002, 12:00 AM Maybe, the w16's weight can't compare to the storm's lightweight application. darklight 08-24-2002, 12:03 AM plus the metro gets great gas mileage:flash: |Banchi1O5| 08-24-2002, 12:05 AM as usual the ricer brings up the issue of gas milage related to performance - listen DarkLight the Geo brand is all about performance they dont have a care in the world for all of this economy religion stuff - if they happen to make a car that also has nicy fuel consumption so be it but they will never sacrifice performance and their tradition as one of the great car manufactures for the sake of a few tree huggers:rolleyes: ttlamb 08-24-2002, 12:14 AM of course not. its performance all the way. The first geo did not pass the smog regulation, and they detuned it a little |Banchi1O5| 08-24-2002, 12:17 AM yes that proves my point right there but i had an interesting thought a minute ago with all of geo's racing success dont you believe its time for them to try their hand at Le Man's? darklight 08-24-2002, 12:24 AM i was saying that i didnt understand how they got that preformance with such good gas mileage? ttlamb 08-24-2002, 12:27 AM Yes, the possibilities are endless to tune the geo for the le Mans |Banchi1O5| 08-24-2002, 12:33 AM Audi better start watching their backs! theres a new supercar on the loose! darklight 08-24-2002, 12:34 AM Originally posted by ttlamb Yes, the possibilities are endless to tune the geo for the le Mans i dont even want to imagine what they could do at le mans with that inline 3? o god......... |Banchi1O5| 08-24-2002, 12:46 AM Originally posted by darklight i dont even want to imagine what they could do at le mans with that inline 3? o god......... jeez i wonder if they'd even make regulations with that kind of power on tap - it could almost be a complete shutout! darklight 08-24-2002, 01:28 AM Originally posted by |Banchi1O5| jeez i wonder if they'd even make regulations with that kind of power on tap - it could almost be a complete shutout! jeez, all the italians are going to forget aobut those stupid v12's and go for the inline 3's from now on!:flash: Ssom 08-25-2002, 05:05 AM sigh...........:( darklight 08-25-2002, 06:03 PM Originally posted by Moss1O6GTi sigh...........:( :hehehe: :hehe: :hehehe: :hehe: :hehehe: :hehe: :hehehe: :hehe: |Banchi1O5| 08-25-2002, 11:27 PM sigh seems as if some people dont realize art in motion when they see it will the metro always be the black horse of modern racing? darklight 08-26-2002, 07:59 PM OMG OMG OMG I saw a metro today!!! I couldnt get over how wide the tires were, it was awsome:smoka: |Banchi1O5| 08-26-2002, 10:33 PM Practically slicks arent they?! |Banchi1O5| 08-26-2002, 11:01 PM this was originally posted in the car jokes forum I borrowed my wife's Geo Metro last night. One liter of raw power, 3 cylinders of asphalt-tearing terror on thirteen-inch rims. It's stock, alright, nothing done to it, but it pushes the barely 2000 pounds of metro around with AUTHORITY. I'm always catching mopeds and 18-wheelers by surprise... I was headed back from Baskin Robbins with my manly triple-latte cappuccino blast ("No Cinnamon, ma'am, I take it BLACK"), when I stopped at a streetlight. As the Metro throbbed its throaty idle around me, I sipped my bold beverage and wiped the white froth my stiff upper lip. I was minding my own business, but then I heard a rev from the next lane. I turned, made eye contact, then let my eyes trace over the competition. Ford Festiva -- a late model, could be trouble. Low profile tires, curb feelers, and schoolbus-yellow paint. Yep, a hot rod, for sure. The howl of his motor snapped my reverie, and I looked back into the driver's eyes, nodded, then blipped my own throttle. As I tugged on my driving gloves and slipped on my sunglasses (gotta look cool to be fast, and I am *damn* cool, hence...), the night was split with the sound of seven screaming cylinders... Then the light turned... I almost had him out of the hole, my three pounding cylinders thrusting me at least a millimeter back into my seat, as smoke pouring from my front right tire... my unlimited slip differential was letting me down! I saw in the corner of my eyes, a yellow snout gaining, and I heard the roar of his four cylinders. He slung by me, right front wheel juddering against the pavement, and he flashed me a smile as his .7 extra liters of motor stretched its legs. I kept my foot gamely in it, though, waiting for the CHECK ENGINE light to blink on in the one-gauge (no tachometer here!) instrument panel. I saw a glimpse of chrome under his bumper, and knew the ugly truth... He was running a custom exhaust -- probably a 2-into-1 dual exhaust...maybe event cutouts! Damn his hot-rod soul! The old lady passing us on the crosswalk cast a dirty look in our boy-racer direction... Yet still I persisted, with my three pumping pistons singing a heady high-pitched song, wound fully out. Though only a few handfuls of seconds had passed, we were nearing the crosswalk at the other side of the intersection, and I heard the note of his engine change as he made his shift to second, and I saw his grin in his rearview mirror fade as he missed the shift! I rocketed by, shifting, and nursed the clutch gently in to keep from bogging, keeping my motor spinning hot and pulling me ahead, now trailing a cloud of stinking clutch smoke. Not ready to give up so easily, he left his foot in it, revving, and I heard one wheel *almost* chirp as he finally found second and dropped the clutch. We careened over the crosswalk, now going at least 15 miles per hour. A bicyclist passed us, but intent on the race as we were, neither of us batted an eye. He pulled slowly abreast of me, and neck and neck, we made the shift to third, the scream of motors deafening all pedestrians within a five foot circle. He nosed ahead as we passed 30 miles an hour, then eased in front of me, taunting, as we shifted into fourth. I was staring up the dual 6" chrome tips of his exhaust, snarling, my cappuccino forgotten, as he lifted a little to take the next corner. I saw my opportunity, and counting on the innate agility of my trusty steed, I pulled wide into the number two lane and kept my foot buried in carpet. Slowly, I inched around him, feeling my Metro roll slowly to the left as I came abreast in the midst of this gradual sweeping turn. I felt the Geo ease onto its suspension stops, and felt the right rear wheel slowly leave the ground - no matter, though, because my drive wheels, up front, were pulling me through the corner, and around the Festiva ... The Ford driver beat his wheel in rage as my wife's car eased past him on the outside, my P165/54R13's screaming in protest, as we raced to the next light. We coasted down, neck-and neck, to the red light. I tightened my driving gloves, ready for another round, when this WIMP in the next car meekly flipped his turn signal and made a right. Chevy (Suzuki) superiority reigns!!! I drove off sipping my masculine drink, awash in my sheer virility, looking for other unwitting targets.... Perhaps a Yugo, or maybe even a Volkswagon Van! darklight 08-27-2002, 05:38 PM lol.....:hehehe: darklight 08-28-2002, 11:54 PM do they make a metro model? that would be awsome i mean i may not can afford the car-but hey! i can get the model!:ylsuper S Brake 08-31-2002, 07:37 PM  You're all postwhores! |Banchi1O5| 08-31-2002, 09:48 PM Originally posted by snowboarder  You're all postwhores! I'm talking headers, superchargers, turbochargers, big mouth kits, wings, intakes, Nos kits, driveshafts, flywheels, tips, nitto racing tires and wheels, cranks, pushrods, ram air kits, K and N kits, and Custum body kits. Man, it would fly. Even if it was just running on 2 cylinders. It would still push out more horse then an Mclaren F1. Put a six speed tranny in it and you'd be gone. The car might not be street legal. You could put 12to1 pistons in it. Oh yea. The Geo Metro. My dream Car. darklight 10-02-2002, 08:01 PM Originally posted by swamack Do you guys know how many upgrades their are for a geo metro. Geo Metro vs. Chevy Sprint (i believe thats what it is) Anyways a couple friends of mine "modified" one not to long ago. Same size as the metro if not smaller (believe it or not), and yes it also has 3cylinders. Mods include 1. Painted in gray primer spray paint 2. spray painted flames on the hood for extra speed 3. no front bumper, lightens the car. 4. special bailing twine to hold the front left headlight in place 5. various parts of the car spray painted in gold spray paint, including the ONE side mirror. 6. spray painted in gold on both sides of the car are the words "Big Pimpin" 7. racing manual tranny that makes you go straight into second gear instead of first. 8. racing suspension, making the car bounce for a good 50+ feet after hitting a bump, also has a slight side to side motion at the same time. Future mods include, one empty coffee can welded to the exhaust for an aftermarket look exhaust tip. Possibly a home made particle board roof mounted spoiler, also painted gold. Various VTEC and NOS stickers. :D swamack 10-07-2002, 08:23 AM A Jeggs sticker will add and extra 10 Hp. 20 Hp for the bigger ones.
