The belt broke on the engine. I drove the car several hundred feet to get across an intersection to park it tell we got towed.
How much does it cost in general to replace it and would ther be any damage to the engine?

As long as you didnt drive it toooo far there shouldnt be too much damage, the series 2 still has iron heads so it handles the heat better, I doubt it harmed anything.

I assume all you are replacing is the belt? I think a new belt runs around 25-30 bucks, depends on what brand you go with, and on the W-body it should be an easy change, pick yourself up a Chiltons or Haynes to help you through it if you arent comfortable doing it yourself.

It should be an easy fix, and I seriously doubt youve harmed the engine at all by driving a couple hundred feet.

The only way to tell is to fix it i guess:)
