transmission question

How do you shift an automatic transmission? Do you shift by pressing the brake at the same time as you shift or do you just shift from 1-2-3. And if you shift by pressing break will it mess up your transmission.

Your question really doesn't indicate what type of answer you are looking for. If you are trying to shift it like a manual then start with the car in low or first and then build rpm's to the point where you want to shift and then go to the next gear. There is no need to depress the brake other than to get it out of park. Your best bet for normal driving is to keep it in drive.

Yea just keep it in drive and learn the computer's shift points of when they come up...

a quick trick my cousin learned in his grand prix when going all out on the throttle is by knowing the range of shift points in what gear and letting off just a tad so the computer will shift to the next gear .. then you floor it again.. doesnt always works but it sorta works...
