I have a 2001 1.8T with an intermittent check light. The error code P0 171 indicating Bank 1 Too Lean. If reset, the light stays out for 1-2-3 days then comes back on. Car runs degraded when on. I've found info pointing towards MAF sensor. Is this correct?

Thanks

could be maf sensor. Check the breather lines under the intake manifold for oil residue. This would indicate leaking hoses.

If there ok I would try replacing the maf sensor, but just to know a faulty front o2 sensor also can cause a system too lean code
