Weeves 08-08-2002, 02:34 PM I was trying to figure out how to disable the daytime running lamps too, but I haven't had any luck. I guess thats the reason why their called "daytime" lamps. Florida_AerioSX 08-09-2002, 08:18 PM If the vehicle is running and you're parked and want the DTR lights off you can simply pull up on the parking brake. Obviously this method won't work to turn them off when you're driving- but due to the safety statistics I'm not sure why anyone would want them off while driving- they're on for a reason- they save lives nikkow 08-29-2002, 08:52 AM Yea that would be nice to know :) jeffescortlx 07-23-2003, 04:55 PM Originally posted by Florida_AerioSX If the vehicle is running and you're parked and want the DTR lights off you can simply pull up on the parking brake. Why yould you want them off in the first place? 4thGen4Door 08-24-2003, 07:27 PM Hello, In my 91 civic I did not like the daytime lights, so in the fuse box I removed the fuse for daytime lights. teamsuzuki 09-26-2003, 02:30 PM There is a wire formation you have to disconnect at the parking brake. Take off the center console and there you will find the wiring, and then you have to disconnect it from there... :2cents:  (or you can just pull your e-brake up 1 notch and that will turn it off too) Don't attempt till you've used your e-brake a lot... tydog8 10-09-2003, 05:48 PM Ok, Heres the real fix. On the dash there is a light sensor the turns them off/on. Just pry it up gently with small screwdriver and unplug the sensor. The answers to all your problems. 4thGen4Door 10-09-2003, 09:51 PM Ok, Heres the real fix. On the dash there is a light sensor the turns them off/on. Where on the dash? tydog8 10-11-2003, 10:40 AM it is located more up towards the windshield on the passenger side i believe. Looks like a small little circle. About the size of a quarter id say. jeffescortlx 10-12-2003, 05:00 PM Why would you want to turn off the day time running lights? Samurai Hamster 10-12-2003, 07:09 PM Because it burns the bulbs all the time hastening their demise and its a drag on the alternator, forcing it to put out more amps each time the motor is running. That makes the alternator run hotter and burn out quicker. Plus, its another plan from the government to save us from ourselves. jeffescortlx 10-13-2003, 10:55 PM Because it burns the bulbs all the time hastening their demise and its a drag on the alternator, forcing it to put out more amps each time the motor is running. Would'nt you think Suzuki would design the altenator to handel the options that the car is equiped with? poweredbyisuzu 10-16-2003, 07:02 PM i believe that should be a fuse for the DRL. I need to go refresh my memory of one. My wife has an aerio and i should be able to find out for ya sometime soon. Umm, yah, it's fucked up that suzuki can't have an alternator that can handle the stuff it has in it, but just a question, anyone of yall have installed a system in your car. If so help me. hehehe, l8ters DannoAerio 01-25-2004, 08:58 PM to make a reply to several of the posts made so far. There is no sensor to turn on these lights. They are on 100% of the time, the sensor would be to turn off the DRL and turn on the headlights, this car has no sensor, to move to headlights it's a manual sorta thing. Secondly, the Aerio's alternator can handle the stock setups load without any problems. If you have added a very large audio system, then you might experience some problems. I know I've added a 400w amp and my DRLs dim a little at idle. DannoAerio 01-25-2004, 09:00 PM check out suzukiaerioforum to see the solution to this problem. A user there has posted wiring information to deal with the DRLs. kidfam 08-25-2004, 10:27 AM My reason is that at night they are on, but not the tail lights. Many times I forget to actually turn the headlight switch on cause the lights are already on. Luckily no accidents yet from being rear ended because someone couldn't see my ass end. maceyr 09-13-2004, 10:42 PM Check out Aeriostyle.com http://www.aeriostyle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=84 kidfam 10-18-2004, 12:00 PM I want them OFF on my Aerio SX too because too many nights the lights are already on and I forget to turn the headlight/tailights on. NO HEADLIGHTS on means NO TAILlights on. Evo6 11-13-2004, 02:40 AM You cant turn them off. They turn on automaticly.Though you can do a light conversion. kidfam 12-03-2004, 08:05 PM I hate them!! Too many times driving away at night you forget to turn on the headlights which includes TAIL LIGHTS. Dangerous feature, Someday I expect to get rear ended because of this benson_pedro 02-17-2005, 09:08 PM Open your glovebox and pull it down past the rubber stops. Look up and to the left and you will see a silver box with a wire harness plugged into it. Unplug the harness. That's it. The only other function that becomes disabled is the little dummy "BRAKE" light that comes on in your dash when you pull up on the parking brake. But if you want to see that light for some reason, you can add a jumper wire to the red/black wires inserted into the harness. The 2 blue/white wires are for your headlights, while the other 4 red/black control your brake lever light. But without cutting wires, or splicing anything, this is the easiest method for disabling your DRL's, and can quickly be converted back to stock in less than 30 seconds. gatopanzo 07-14-2005, 05:34 PM so how much power can the stock alternator handle because iam thinking of putting in a system and would like to replace the alternator to something a little stronger then.
