where is water pump?davemoore29730 07-03-2006, 10:27 AM have a 98 ford escort and see water leaking from around where i think the water pump is. the question is how do i get to it and how hard is it to do. i havent replace a h2o pump in years and the last time i did i could stand in the engine compartment so not used to these sidewasys engines!!!! thanks AzTumbleweed 07-03-2006, 12:22 PM The water pump is driven by the timing belt so you have to remove the timing belt cover to see it. Not sure what engine you have.....
