I went to the parts store to get a new egr valve for my burb and apparently there are several depending on the oem part number of the original. Unfortunately for me the one that is on it is not oem and I am not certain that it is the right one since no one wrote the oem number on it and I think it has been malfuntioning for sometime...maybe since it was put on:banghead: . Is there any other way to get the right oem number for this truck???

you might try the rock auto web site and check out your specific truck and select the engine.... should give you some numbers to look at. Stuff like that I buy GM... Anyway I have no connection to rock auto...but its a good place to do some research on and they have good prices. I have bought a couple of things from them in the past.

I am also a rock auto fan but they reference specific oem numbers also. I guess I may need to contact a factory service department tomorrow am to see if they can help. Thanks for the suggestion though.

well can't you get the OEM number from the Rock Auto web site ( I guess they also carry the GM number) and then tell the parts guy to cross that with his aftermarket part.

I think there is another place to get a GM number on the web...GM parts direct
