I test drove a 2002 Overland today, it drives fine, brakes fine etc... but it has a noise from 0-10mph and from 10-0mph. You can hear it , it's sort of like a whining diff noise, but this one is all the time, and its not the diff. When accelerating, and when slowing down.
BTW, i have driven my silverado (work truck) with a blown diff/bearing for about 50km and know how a diff whines. This is not the diff.
Someone said it could be a transmission, how often do these go out on these vehicles?
its a 2002 Overland with about 140km, which would translate to 80miles?

i drove quite few of them and all of them make same noise when in first gear, its very minimal. You can barely hear it. I have bought an another vehicle, and am VERY happy with it:) Overlands kick ass!:P if anyone has any Qs about anything, let me know:)
