Ahoy everyone, this is my first post so hopefully I don't botch it up and make everyone hate me.

My question is why in all the areas i've lived and most of the sites and such i've visted, I see more 89'-93' s13 models drifted, compared to the 95'-98' s14 models?. Is there some movie (or something lame like that) that made the s13 more popular? or some weight factor or something i'm missing.

Just for sakes say I'm looking at a 96' 240sx to buy but I am still new to 240sx's. So I was worried about buying it then finding out later that some random factor, makes the s13 a better drift car. Also I tryed searching Google/AF for some time before posting this question, so sorry if I missed a post with the answer somewhere, Thanks for your time.

i have no idea....since i see more s13 fastbacks being drifted than coupes i guess it's lightweight or something (they just look the best to me), or 240sx's are some of the cheapest rwd cars you can get maybe they just get em cos the older ones are cheaper

I'd say cause they're cheaper

yea it doesnt really matter. Both can drift. I guess the s13 chassis is just more enjoyed. Also s14's are a bit hard to find. Especially the kouki (97-98) models.

the coupe (PS13) are rare, but its lighter, stiffer, stronger then the (RPS13).
the S14, not cheap!

the '89-'94 (s13) hatch is cheaper than the '95-'98 (s14) coupe, and it's lighter, the hatch is shorter front to back then the coupe which means it rotates better, better for drifting

actually the s13 is longer...
the s13 hatch has 50 more lbs or so in the back of the car than the s13 coupe, so it weighs more but has better weight distribution.
the s14 is slightly heavier, and....wait a sec, why dont you just search.
or better yet, go here--
