Engine cranks but won't start when hotvelum 06-24-2006, 12:14 AM Hi! Can anyone help me with this one. The engine of my Porsche 914 2.0 L 1972 (1973 Engine; Fuel Injection) will crank, but won't start if the engine is hot. When the engine is cool, it starts no problem. However, if I derive for, let's say half an hour, and I stop the engine, it won't start anymore until the engine is cold again. That is a couple of hours later. Does anyone have a clue of what could cause this? One last detail: If the engine is hot, it will start on compression however. Best regards, Jean-François Beauchamp Jdm914 04-19-2007, 06:00 AM 1. Check for fuel vapor lock. 2. Check coil and condenser for short. 3. Check fuel pump relay. These are some of the most common problems when a 914 will not start when hot vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
