i got a front clip with a 98 s13 BLACK top and it had this part in ther and i cant figure it out. it has 2 clips that connect to the wiring harness that needed to be extended. i have already done the swap and had it running and everything but now i am fixing an exhaust leak putting on the boost controller. it is also wastgate actuator what the waste gate actuator connects to. i havent never seen this in on any other sr20 swap and am wondering if anybody can tell me what it is, what it does, and can i get rid of it.(let me know if the pic doesnt work)

wow....this is making me feel like such a dumbass, can you post and picture a little futher away so i can see parts around it that i can recognise?

Looks somewhat similar to the emissions bs on a ka setup..i would say delete it..

Im no sr guy so i have not a clue. But i would take it off and see what happens. If anything seems different or wrong with the car hook it back up.

yea, that is what im pretty much going to do, im just tryin to get some detailed info on it first.

here is a pic from farther away. the exhaust manifold and turbo is all out because i am fixing an exhaust leak right now.that part is the part that the wastygate actuator connects to and ther are other various vacuum lines that plug into it too.

well i know my SR doesnt have it, however if it is hooked to your wastegate, there is a very good chance that, that could be a aftermarket boost controller...however you are unlucky and probably dont have the controller

im pretty sure its not after market anything because ther are two clips from the sr wiring harness that clip onto it.

hey AWD, did u put ur motor in urself? if so, what did u do with that thing? are u sure that it is some sort of boost controller?

It definately looks like a stock boost control solenoid.

The hose on the left attaches to intake pipe to the turbo, which is always under vacuum. The middle hose goes down to the waste gate actuator and the piece on the right is the feed to the ECU.

If you are running a aftermarket boost controller then you've already pulled off the hose to the waste gate and the stock piece isn't doing anything anyway.
