Does the late model 99 pathfinder have auto-lock hubs? I had my truck on a lift. When I manualy rotated the wheels, the front driveshaft turned into the transfer case. Should the front wheels spin free when in 2WD?

Nope, your pathfinder has driveflanges that always spin everything from the wheel back to the transfer case, even in 2WD. If you want the front wheels to spin freely you can swap on a pair of Warn Manual Hubs like I've done on my 97.

Thanks for the reply. It sure seems like alot of drag an undue wear on the front drivetrain. Did you notice better mileage/performance when you swapped out the hubs?

Did they just fit over the 'ends' of the existing spindles.

Thanks!

The Warn hubs bolt on and come with instructions. They DO reduce drivetrain drag and increase mileage slightly, yes.
