So, I finally got to drag race the legal way today, had to drive about an hour to do it. My goal was 16.2 seconds, since it was my first time out, and I was happy with how things turned out. I got 7 runs in, and my times were in this order:

16.210
15.933
15.895
16.057
16.253
16.247
16.001

My reaction times varied quite a bit, but I did have one at .018, that was awesome. Anyway, I'm just pumped that I finally got to go to a real drag strip.

Congrats on getting off the street and racing where it really counts. ;)

Just so you know, reaction times have nothing to do with your ET.
All the R/T matters for is beating the other driver to the finish line.

Sounds like you had a fun first time out.

And like Jeff said, RT has nothing to do with your ET, just so ya know, lol. You'd be suprised at the people that think it does, lol.

Anyways, congrats, and an .018 is excellent, especially off the foot brake. Very good. The tree is where you win or lose the race. If you can beat the other guy off the lights, then you can dictate what happens on the big end.

Ya, I knew the RT didn't matter for the ET, but I figured the RT was where I was challenging myself, since the ET is pretty much up to my car since it's auto. Unfortunately, I didn't get matched up against anybody that was a good match. I beat a VW Golf that ran an 16.8, but I lost to an older V8 firebird, Ford SVT Lightning, and a built up Chevy Silverado 1500. I did have alot of fun though, and it was nice to not be the slowest car there.
