I recently cut the cat off and put in a straight pipe. I clamped the straight pipe and it leaks where the clamps are and sounds bad. Nobody will weld it for me because it is "illegal". I tried all the muffler puddy and exhaust leak tapes they all just melt off in a matter of minutes. I got alright results with wrapping sheet metal around it but it blows a hole throught that too. Any suggestions???

Sounds like the pipes you installed aren't mated up properly. One should fit inside the other.

So, either follow the previous advice or replace the pipes.
