I was driving back from disneyland with my gf and we see this clean white 350Z. I am not thinking anything cuz my gf is in the car and am just like cool. Then out of no were he goes zooming by me, and im like pffft* and my gf says "he wants to race" and I was like "yea thats cool i don't" shes like "why not", and i am like "Because I'll spank that car" and she is like "DO IT!" and I was like "SHWING!" anyways, we get to the light and he is laughing at me so Im thinking "oh its on now". So I wind up and launch at like 45-5k and spank him off the line, by the time i hit 3rd we have to shut down (red light) I had a car on him. He looks over at me and says "Im gonna get you this time" so we take off again, same thing spanked his ass 2wice by a car, and thats not even pullin past 70.

that Z must've been pretty quick to keep up with you off the line, since they usually do better up top. but yeah that is definitly a cool girl friend who lets you race.

The new ones are 300hp though aren't they? I still roasted him off the line though by at least a 1/2 of a car if not more.

A 0-60 time isn't really illustrative of how quick a car is off the line. You need to look at your 60' time. Usually an AWD car can cut a 1.8-2.0 sec. 60' on street tires, whereas i've seen most 350Z's running a 2.3-2.4 sec. 60'.

I dunno about 0-60, i was more so looking at power rating but i understand what your saying, i just don't see the lengths in cars. So how bout famoso getting shut down, did you guys end up going to LACR? That was dissapointing.

No Danno and I skipped on going to LACR (It would've had a density altitude of 4-6K feet, seeing as to how it's at 2700 ft. elevation, and would've had a track temperature approaching 130 degrees).

Danno got some Gtech Pro Competition times last night. I don't think he was too happy with them, but they are accurate (The old gtechs stunk, but the newest one is dead on).

I would hope a 350z could pull better than a 2.3-2.4 60'. I can pull consistent 2.1 60' times in my fwd celica gt-s with street tires.

you should have raced him from a roll...the out come might have been different...and yes your AWD is a huge advantage on the street...especially from the dig...

You 'spanked' him 2x BECAUSE you didn't pull past 70. You started and ended the race in ideal conditions for you. Race him to 100/110, and see who's 'spanked'

I think what happens, is you compare what you think you're car should be running, and then if it's faster on paper, and you beat the guy once up to 70, you think that is how it should be. Okay so? A stock 2.5L wrx that can beat a 350Z from a dig or from a roll. Sure that car is in my league, but I will beat it until about 125-130 then it may start to walk past me, I dunno, haven't seen it happen yet. I do know however that the 2.5L has a lot more power up top than the 2.0L did, and I have managed to keep up or pull on variouse cars at high speeds, aside from this I really don't see how running my car at the track is gonna prove shit if your talking about going from a roll. All the mods that i have done are for air flow to and from the turbo, not much at all really, just setting up for the big moves. BTW i don't think tint or springs does shit as far as speed is concerned.

Okay man your right, he would've beat me. My car really isn't that fast on top end and a 350Z would stomp on me all the way after 70, almost any fast car would because I have AWD drive and that hinders my top end reeeaaaallly bad, your right. 90% of what I say is bullshit too.
