'95 2.4L 22RZ throttle adjustment?TGates81 06-19-2006, 05:08 PM hi guys, I recently had to adjust the throttle plate out by adjusting the throttle stop screw because it was physcially hitting the throttle body and was causing it to "stick". Before I bust out the ohm-meter and test the TPS is still in sync, how far out should this throttle set screw be set? If I were to guess I would say to the idle spec (650-750) but I'm really not sure. Any thoughts? And does any know of a way to test engine rpm with just a multimeter? TcmaBoy 06-19-2006, 08:38 PM Which screw are you refering to. Are you talking about the throttle opener screw? You set the inital with a feeler gauge. When the throttle closed it should be .026 in. Then you do your adjustment. For engine RPM there are special automotive multimeters that have an RPM setting. TGates81 06-19-2006, 09:19 PM Yes the throttle opener screw. .026 in from what to what? I know you need about that much when you adjust the TPS (set screw to TB) but I need to know where that set screw is supposed to be set at so the throttle valve itself is in the right position to adjust the TPS to. Could you be a little more clear? TcmaBoy 06-19-2006, 09:46 PM When the throttle is closed measure the gap between the throttle stop and the screw with a feeler gauge. The gap should be .026 inches. TGates81 06-19-2006, 10:21 PM ah ok. Thats completely the opposite of what I have it at now. Its probably about an eigth of an inch the other way...at least.
