Hi there I am going to need 4 tires soon, as the "freebies" I received from the GM dealer when I bought my used silvy, are going pretty bad. I noticed some seperation on one of the sidewall.

Anyway, my Local sam's club has some good deals on Goodyear, Michelin etc..It gives me two options: 235/75R16 and 255/70R16. There are way more choices for the 255/70R16, so I was wondering if that is what is reccomended when changing.

I understand the stock size from factory was 235/75. WIll I need to reset PCM if I change size? Are there any issues I should think about if I go a tad taller? I have the 3.73 rear end with a 5.3. I do just basic driving, occasionally smoking rice-burners at lights :) But mostly highway/town driving. I am also big on Mileage Fuel MPG so whichever gives me better economy, I would go that route.

Thanks a bunch!!

**EDIT** Just looked at my tires and I have the 255/70R16, so that answers my question there. Were there smaller, narrower tires on these from the factory? What do you guys get when you just want good, better than stock tires??

The Goodyear Fortera with SilentArmor technology looks pretty good.... I might even whitewall those, they look so clean and simple.

$145/tire with lifetime rotation, balance, and roadhazard

I'd recommend the Michelin strongly. It's a great tire. You pay a little more but I think they have better traction overall, as well as wear.

If you go just slightly taller your speedo will just be a tad off. You will be going slightly slower than your speedo reads. Inside an inch I woulndt worry too much about it. But Ill tell you what you should do is get a nelson tune, he can correct your speedo and give you 2-2.5 mpg increase, thats what i got with my tune

I've had experience with the pirelli scorpions, the nitto nt-450s, the nitto 555s, and toyo proxies. All of these tires have had their advantages and disadvantages. Currently I'm on the nitto nt-450s and I couldn't be happier with the tires.

What style of Michelin do you reccomend? I want nice, quiet quality tire for highway, street driving. How much more are they? The ones I saw were kind of cheaper (than $145).

Thanks

Man please tell me you mean "white letters" and not "white walls"!

:) Yeah I meant white letters out.

How many of you put the white letters out?

I really like the fortera design, features etc. And all the tires have written on them is "goodyear" and Fortera written on the opposite side. I really dont like tires white letters out when it says "Goodyear wilderness radial XT Plus" or something that takes up the whole circumference of the tire to spell out.

You know what I mean?

heres a link to the ones I like. I think these are "HL" But I want just the LT tire that looks the same.

They rank 3rd out of 100 tires surveyed.

I wouldn't own a Goodyear tire on any of my vehicles. Thet don't wear worth a crap and the warranty/road hazzard is a joke. the next ones I put on my truck will be BFG long trails.
